Youth Conferences
Community Tampa Bay’s™ Youth Conferences are designed to engage students in dialogue and meaningful cross cultural interactions within a school setting. Students and administrators work with Community Tampa Bay™ staff to jointly identify school issues that are interfering with learning such as: bullying, disrespect, racial divisions, and other problems. This theme is then woven throughout a daylong series of icebreakers, team building and action planning with a select group of 50 students to promote safe learning environments that encourage every learner to achieve to their highest potential. Students are actively engaged in leadership roles throughout the Conference to further build their skills. Call or email us to talk about your needs. Youth Conferences can be initiated by students, parents, teachers or administrators.
Application can be found here.
Want a Youth Conference at your school?
- Work with Community Tampa Bay™ to gain support of the school administration and set up pre-planning meetings that include students, staff and administrators.
- Identify funding for the Conference. Some Conferences can be provided at no charge because of existing contracts and corporate donations but this changes every year! Other Conferences are sponsored by the PTSA or other school groups. Call us to find out the particular situation with your school or district.
- Host a Youth Conference that students will say was AWESOME!
After the Youth Conference:
- Begin to implement the steps of the Action Plan developed at your school. This helps to engage additional students and other support to change your school climate to one that supports every student.
- Identify students or teachers to attend Anytown and contact us for upcoming sessions for delegates or volunteers. Stay in touch so you don’t miss any training or service opportunities!
