2024 Business of Pride: Community Tampa Bay Inc., ‘Ally Company’

Twenty-seven individuals and companies were honored in the 2024 Business of Pride awards on June 18th, 2024. The Business of Pride awards focus on LGBT business leadership and development, allies within the community and voices from the LGBT community. These business leaders and companies are making a difference in advancing equality in the business world. The program shines a spotlight on people, companies, policies and progress.

For over 70 years, Community Tampa Bay has been doing anti-discrimination work in the Tampa Bay area. The organization coordinates its work around 10 social identities: race, ethnicity, nationality, sex, sexual orientation, gender, age, ability, faith and class, and it offers workshops on all of these social identities. Its signature program ANYTOWN has been in operation for over three decades, which engages high schoolers in inclusive leadership training and team building that help break down discrimination in their schools and communities.

In the past year, Community Tampa Bay hosted an intergenerational conversation between seasoned professionals and college students about LGBTQ+ issues, and the company’s CEO, Tammy Briant Spratling, was the keynote speaker for the University of South Florida Lavender Graduation in May 2024, which honors LGBTQ+ students and ally students and their contributions to the university.

Thank you to the Tampa Bay Business Journal and Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber for this recognition, award, and honor!
